History

 

In 1952, Dr. Kenneth Platt founded the Westminster Medical Clinic in an annex to the drug store at 72nd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard. Five years later, a new building was completed at 7401 Lowell Boulevard and the Westminster Medical Clinic served thousands of patients. Dr. Michael Archer joined the staff in 1981 and Dr. Scott Hammond came on board in 1985. In 1988, Dr. Platt sold the practice to Drs. Archer and Hammond. Dr. Jude Kirk joined the staff in 1993. The north office, Westmed Family HealthCare was opened in 1996, and Westminster Medical Clinic moved to the Sheridan location in 2001. Dr. Robin Smith joined WMC in 1997, Dr. Michael Cavanagh joined WFHC in 1996, and Dr. Clifton Etienne also joined WFHC in 2007. Currently both facilities are fully staffed and practicing Family Medicine.

We are dedicated to provide our patients with the highest quality and safest health care possible.

Your health is important to us! We are Physicians and Physician Assistants who specialize in Family Medicine. The Physicians are board certified in the specialty of Family Medicine. This requires three years training after medical school in areas of internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, surgery and other medical specialties. The Physician Assistants are also board certified. They are qualified to diagnose and treat common medical problems and work under direct physician supervision.

James Jude Kirk, M.D.

Dr. Kirk grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania. After medical school, he served 7 years active duty military. He practiced in Pueblo, Colorado for 6 years, then joined Westmed in 1993. He enjoys a full range of family practice including pediatrics, well women health and geriatrics. He performs vasectomies and other minor surgeries. Other interest include: jogging, skiing, golf, hiking.

Michael Cavanagh, M.D.

Michael K. Cavanagh, MD joined Westmed Family HealthCare. He has a special interest in Sports Medicine and Wilderness Medicine. He is Board Certified. During his leisure time, Dr. Cavanagh enjoys running, cycling and snowboarding. Originally from Connecticut, he is married with two children.

 

Philosophy: "My primary goal as a physician is excellence in the care I provide. My philosophy is to treat my patients as a whole person, not just treating an illness."

Clifton Etienne, M.D.
Locations: Westmed Family Healthcare

 

Clifton Etienne, MD was born on an Air Force base in Spain. He was raised and attended medical school in Europe and is fluent in Spanish. He completed his residency at Natividad Medical Center, University of California at San Francisco. He is Board Certified and currently accepting new patients.

Dr. Etienne loves sports. He spends his free time enjoying the outdoors and Colorado sunshine with his wife, a dentist, at the University of Colorado.

Philosophy: "We're here to guide our patients and provide them with the tools to take better care of themselves."

 

 

Andrea Ziolkowski, PA-C

Andrea Ziolkowski received her bachelor's degree from Colorado College and graduated from the CHA/PA program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2009. Prior to beginning Physician Assistant training, she spent more than 20 years as a writer and corporate communications manager. In her free time, she enjoys reading, skiing, travel, and cooking.

Philosophy: "My goal is to work together with patients to maximize their potential for good health and its resulting benefits."

Location and Hours

 

Directions: The office is located at 12201 Pecos Street, Suite #500, two blocks north of 120th Avenue on Pecos Street. We are on the northwest corner of 122nd and Pecos Street, approximately 1 mile west of I-25.

*After-Hours: We have weekend office hours for Urgent Care. One of our two offices will be open. Please contact us for further information and appointments. Emergency calls are handled immediately, routine calls are returned later in the day or possibly the following day. If a nurse returns your call, please be assured that they are speaking on our behalf with specific instructions for you. After regular clinic hours, our answering service will take your call, and will forward your name and phone number to the Physician or Physician Assistant on call.
